Injury-prone Owen Hargreaves could well be plying his trade at either Arsenal, Everton or Liverpool next season if he can prove his fitness. All three clubs are on alert after it was made public by Alex Ferguson that the Old Trafford star would not be getting a new contract when his current one runs out in the summer. The 30-year-old has been in a constant battle with injuries since he joined the club for £17 million from Bayern Munich. Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool are all on the look-out for an experienced midfielder to boost their squads next season, but all the clubs would want assurances about the player’s fitness before committing. And due to the fact that Hargreaves only managed 39 appearances in his time at Old Trafford, manager’s from the three clubs would be mostly interested in a pay as you play deal. As for Ferguson, he is sad that the player has to go, but he hopes that he will be putting his boots back on soon. “This has been a difficult decision knowing how hard the lad has worked to win back his fitness,” Ferguson said. “But we’ve made it hoping he’ll be able to resurrect his career elsewhere.”
