Bayern Munich are ready to help Manchester United recoup £20million of their recent transfer spending by making a bid for Nani.
The Germans believe they can lure the 24-year-old Portuguese after United's £17m signing of Ashley Young from Aston Villa intensified the competition for midfield places.
But Sir Alex Ferguson wants Nani to stay as he sets about team strengthening and he is even ready to slug it out with Chelsea and Manchester City for Tottenham's £30m-rated Luka Modric.
