The Honduras international enjoyed an excellent first season at Parkhead, scooping the Hoops players of the season award as he attracted plenty of interest from south of the border.
United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old at some point, although Celtic manager Neil Lennon denies having ever received an offer for Izaguirre.
The defender has now revealed he is set to meet with United in July to discuss a move to the Premier League champions having been denied the chance to join them in January.
The Hoops star believes United were more interested in a move for him before Patrice Evra signed a new contract but suggests he is still open to the possibility of going to Manchester.
"I am aware that Manchester United and Celtic agreed for a meeting in July," said Izaguirre in Honduras. "We have to see what happens if I stay or I go.
"I have to confirm it's 100% true that Manchester United were following me and were interested in me in January."
"If I have the chance I welcome the move with open arms. If that is the case I will thank God and I will take my opportunity."
