Berbatov set for talks with Manchester United chiefs to settle uncertainty over his future

Dimitar Berbatov’s agent is set to hold crunch talks with Manchester United in a bid to learn if the striker has a future at Old Trafford.

The Bulgarian was United’s top scorer last season, notching 22 goals in all competitions, but he was left on the bench for large parts of the campaign and was dropped from the squad altogether for the Champions League final.

French club Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the 30-year-old, but Berbatov’s representative insists he wants to stay at United.

‘We’ll know more after we have talks with United, but Berbatov wants to stay and to keep winning trophies,’ Emil Danchev told the Daily Mirror.

Berbatov joined United from Tottenham in 2008 and has since scored 42 league goals in 96 games.
